How Long Does a Custom Song Take? The Full Timeline Explained
The most common question in our inbox is not about pricing or genre. It is timing. “Bhaiya, anniversary is on Saturday, will it reach?” “Mom’s birthday is in five days, possible?” “I forgot, can you do it in a day?” We can answer all three, but the honest version requires explaining what actually happens between you hitting submit and the song landing in your inbox. Here is the full timeline.
The Three Delivery Tiers
We offer three speeds, and the difference between them is real production hours, not just a price difference.
- Standard: 7 days. Included in the base ₹1,499.
- Express: 3 days. Adds ₹500.
- Rush: 24 hours. Adds ₹1,000.
Every tier includes one lyric revision, two-to-three-minute length, your choice of language and vocals, and a private listening link plus high-quality MP3 download. The faster tiers cost more because they require us to compress and parallelise work that normally happens sequentially.
Stage One: Brief and Interpretation
Once you submit the form at /create, our team reads the brief carefully. We pull out the specific details (names, memories, inside jokes, the genre you picked, vocal preference), and we map them to a song structure. Most custom songs follow a verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus form, occasionally a verse-pre-chorus-chorus arrangement for pop or Bollywood.
This stage takes roughly 4-8 hours on Standard, 2-3 hours on Express, and is compressed to under an hour on Rush. We do not skip it on Rush, we just have a producer available immediately rather than slotting it into the next workday.
Stage Two: Lyric Composition
Lyric writing is where AI and human craft meet. Our writers use AI to generate initial directions, then refine, rewrite, and shape the language until it sounds like something a person actually wrote. Hinglish lyrics need a human ear, because the rhythm of code-switching is not something AI nails on the first pass.
- Standard: 1.5-2 days. Multiple drafts before we lock a version.
- Express: 12-18 hours.
- Rush: 4-6 hours of focused writing.
Your one included revision typically happens here, before recording.
Stage Three: Composition and Arrangement
This is where the song becomes music. Our producers choose the key (typically C, G, D, or A for vocal comfort), set the tempo, and pick the instrumentation. Bollywood romantic might sit at 95 BPM with tabla, harmonium, and strings. Acoustic ballads run slower around 70-80 BPM with guitar and piano. Pop and rap pieces sit between 100-128 BPM.
The arrangement is laid out as a digital production with virtual instruments and reference vocals. This stage runs 1.5-2 days on Standard, around a day on Express, and 6-8 hours on Rush.
Stage Four: Vocal Recording
Our human vocalists record the final performance to the composed track. This is the stage that benefits most from time, because vocal takes matter. A singer doing five takes and picking the best one almost always outperforms a single take, regardless of skill.
- Standard: Full day, multiple takes, comped vocal track.
- Express: Half-day with focused takes.
- Rush: A 2-3 hour session with a vocalist on standby.
We schedule our vocalists in advance for Express and Rush, which is part of why these tiers cost more. Studio time is real.
Stage Five: Mixing and Mastering
Mixing balances the levels of vocals, instruments, and any harmonies. Mastering finalises the loudness, EQ, and stereo image so the song sounds polished on phone speakers, car stereos, and earphones alike. This is the stage that separates an amateur recording from a studio-quality one.
- Standard: 1-1.5 days, including a final listening pass.
- Express: Half-day.
- Rush: 2-4 hours of focused engineering.
We do not skip mastering at any tier. A song that has not been mastered sounds muffled or thin on most playback devices, and we refuse to ship that.
Final Listening and Delivery
Before the song hits your inbox, a senior producer does a final listen on multiple devices. We check for any clipping, vocal artefacts, or balance issues. Then we generate your private listening link and the high-quality MP3.
You can replay your song forever from the link, and the MP3 download is yours to keep on any device. Your story stays strictly confidential throughout.
Which Tier Should You Pick
Pick Standard when you are planning at least 10 days ahead. Pick Express when you have a week and want some buffer. Pick Rush when you forgot and the occasion is tomorrow. We have delivered Rush songs hours before weddings and anniversaries, and we are proud of the quality, but Standard always gives the writers and producers the most room to do their best work.
Start the Brief
Whichever tier you pick, the timeline starts the moment you submit. Begin at /create, or reach us at /contact if you want to confirm timing for a specific date. We will tell you honestly whether it is possible.
